A Collaborative Program Started by OSHA

OSHA introduced the Voluntary Protection Program (VPP) in 1982 to recognize general industry worksites committed to achieving excellence in workplace safety and health.

Your Company Doesn't Need to Have a Perfect Injury Record

OSHA will evaluate workplaces on their overall Safety & Health Program and also look at a 3-year TCIR and DART rate. Learn more about the qualification requirements here.

Bonus: VPP Certified Sites Are Exempt From Planned OSHA Inspections

Our Journey to VPP

A Proud STAR VPP Worksite

On April 30, 2010, OSHA awarded Lancaster Safety Consulting, Inc. VPP Star recognition for demonstrating excellence in workplace safety and health. Lancaster Safety became the first company in OSHA’s Region III to achieve VPP Star Mobile Workforce status.

Today, Lancaster Safety continues to maintain its VPP Star Mobile Workforce status, demonstrating the same high safety standards we help our clients achieve.

Out of an estimated 7 million businesses in the United States, fewer than 2,000 worksites currently participate in OSHA’s Voluntary Protection Programs, making VPP recognition a distinction achieved by a small group of organizations nationwide.

VPP drives companies to commit to long-term safety excellence.

Frequently asked questions

OSHA's VPP

Participating in VPP can help create a safer, healthier workplace, reduce injuries and illnesses, lower workers’ compensation costs, and give your company a competitive advantage. Once accepted into VPP, your worksite is also removed from OSHA’s programmed inspection lists, although OSHA may still conduct inspections in response to complaints, referrals, fatalities, or other qualifying events.
