OSHA’s Voluntary Protection Program

Would your company like to be exempt from planned OSHA inspections and be recognized by OSHA as a leader in the safety industry?

If your company is serious about safety, look into applying for OSHA’s Voluntary Protection Program (VPP). Lancaster Safety Consulting, Inc. was certified by OSHA as a VPP STAR-Mobile Workforce, and our goal is to help other companies achieve this prestigious status as well.

The Voluntary Protection Program is EXPANDING!

As many government programs are experiencing budget cuts, OSHA’s Voluntary Protection Programs is expanding! OSHA is now looking to meet businesses where they are on their safety journey. This helps develop strong safety programs and lower injury rates, allowing them to undergo regular self-evaluations and avoid routine inspections.

A Proud STAR VPP Worksite

On April 30, 2010, the United States Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) awarded Lancaster Safety Consulting, Inc. the distinguished STAR worksite achievement award for demonstrating exemplary occupational safety and health practices. Lancaster Safety Consulting, Inc. is a private, family-based firm that over the past several years, has recorded zero “0” injuries or lost work days due to occupational injury or sickness.

OSHA’s Voluntary Protection Program (VPP) was originally introduced in 1982 for general industry sites that desired to achieve and maintain a high standard of occupational safety and health for its workforce. In 2006, OSHA expanded the VPP to include construction companies and companies with “mobile workforces”. Lancaster Safety Consulting, Inc. became the first company in OSHA’s Region III to be awarded STAR Mobile Workforce achievement by OSHA.

Out of the estimated 7 million US businesses, less than 2,000 companies have been awarded STAR worksite recognition by OSHA to date.

VPP drives companies to commit to long-term safety excellence.
