Q: What is VPP?
A: OSHA’s Voluntary Protection Program (VPP) was originally introduced in 1982 for general industry sites who desired to achieve and maintain a high standard of occupational safety and health excellence for its workforce. In 2006, OSHA expanded the VPP to include construction companies and companies with “mobile workforces”. For more information, please visit the VPP section on OSHA’s website: click here

Q: Why should your company consider becoming a VPP member?
A: To help achieve a safer and healthier work environment for your valued workers, help reduce workers’ compensation costs by reducing occupational injuries and illnesses, and to gain a competitive edge in today’s marketplace. Once accepted into the VPP, your company would become exempt from OSHA citations issued through planned inspections.

Q: Why did Lancaster Safety Consulting, Inc. (LSCI) commit to VPP?
A: To improve the occupational safety and health of our own valued employees and to learn the VPP standard of excellence so that we can help our clients achieve and maintain a safer work environment.

Q: Is Lancaster Safety Consulting, Inc. affiliated with OSHA?
A: NO. Lancaster Safety Consulting, Inc. is a private, family-based firm. On April 30, 2010, Lancaster Safety Consulting, Inc. became the first company in OSHA’s Region III to be awarded the STAR Mobile Workforce achievement by OSHA.

Q: Can LSCI help your company develop, implement, and maintain an occupational safety and health program based on the VPP standard of safety excellence?
