Frequently Asked Questions
Yes. OSHA requires employers to provide scaffold safety training for anyone who works on or near scaffolds. The requirements sit under 29 CFR 1926 Subpart L (construction) and 29 CFR 1910.27 (general industry).
Workers are trained when they're hired or assigned to scaffold work, and annual refreshers are recommended to keep skills current. Retraining is needed sooner if the type of scaffold changes, a new hazard comes up, or someone's knowledge or performance shows they need it.
No, not on its own. This is general awareness training for people who work on or around scaffolds. It prepares you with the knowledge to work safely and spot problems. OSHA sets separate requirements for the competent person who inspects scaffolds and the qualified person who trains others, and those roles need training suited to them.
Our general awareness trainings typically last 20-30 minutes per topic. For a session on various safety topics, training can be anywhere from 2 to 8 hours depending on the number of workplace hazards and topics covered.
Competent person trenching training can last up to 8 hours.
