Working around elevator equipment and in shafts can pose several potential safety hazards. They may include exposure to hazardous energy, movement of mechanical equipment, pinch points, and falls to name a few.  Hazard recognition and job planning are of high priority before beginning any work in and around elevator equipment.  With the right approach, the hazards we mentioned can be avoided and employees can go home free of injury.
