RIMMED WHEEL SAFETY

Studies have shown that injuries related to multi-piece (split) rims were more prevalent in the past, though the trucking industry has largely transitioned to single-piece rims.

Know the Risks!
Multi-piece rim and wheel failures have been responsible for numerous deaths, injuries and lost-time incidents. Despite this, workers may not recognize the hazards or take them for granted. Most incidents occur during tire inflation, usually because of over-inflation, improper procedure, or improperly seated, mismatched, or damaged tire/wheel components.

Why Rimmed Wheel Safety Training?

This module will familiarize you with multi-piece and single-piece rim wheels safety requirements and procedures. This awareness training, coupled with your workplace specific safety instructions and training, can assist you and your co-workers in performing your assigned tasks safely.
