Job Description

As an LSCI HR Coordinator, you would be responsible for recruiting Safety & Health Trainers throughout the United States and new employees locally at our home office near Pittsburgh, PA. You would work closely with our HR Manager to coordinate daily HR related job tasks and be an integral part of growing our company and its culture.

Recruiting

  • Write and post job ads in accordance to the job description
  • Keep an updated list of areas where trainer recruitment needs to be completed
  • Recruit employees and trainers via phone, email, and/or social media
  • Ensure that the LSCI employment website is being kept up to date
  • Review incoming resumes to determine qualified applicants
  • Send the appropriate employment applications to the potentially qualified candidates

Interviewing

  • Schedule and complete a quick phone interview with qualified applicants
  • Determine which applicants should be interviewed and schedule their first office interview
  • Keep electronic copies of applicants’ resumes and applications on file
  • Perform all first round interviews for full time employees
  • Coordinate second and third round interviews with Management
  • Process all hiring paperwork and keep thorough, accurate notes

New Hire Set Up

  • Determine a start date and coordinate with the new hire throughout the on boarding process
  • Put together a new hire training packet before the employee’s first day
  • Confirm that all HR paperwork is completed on the first day of employment
  • Generate appropriate calendar appointments for performance reviews
  • Maintain current records for employee and trainer’s emergency contacts and an up to date list of employee anniversary dates
  • Arrange new hire orientations for employees and independent contractors

HR Records Management

  • Complete regular HR folder audits to ensure proper compliance and maintain the privacy of all confidential documents
  • Perform an annual HR archive of employee files
  • Update the organizational chart
  • Study the employee handbook and make updates when applicable
  • Document project budget discussions and HR issues
  • Manage employee time sheets for accuracy and policy compliance
  • Participate in corrective action meetings when needed

Employee & Trainer Performance Reviews

  • Participate in performance reviews and fill out the review form
  • Manage all HR documentation accordingly
  • Revise or create employee job descriptions

Additional responsibilities may be assumed at any time dependent on work load.

Location:

Our home office in Wexford, PA, which is about 15 miles north of Pittsburgh.  No travel is required for this position.

Requirements:

  • Qualified candidates should possess a Bachelor’s degree in an HR related field and have at least 2 years experience with HR duties
  • Excellent writing, analytical, organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to adapt to a changing environment and handle multiple priorities
  • Proficiency in in Microsoft Office and ability to learn computer-based applications is required
  • An ability to perform general office tasks, including computer and phone use

Compensation:

  • $16.00-$20.00/Hour based on experience
