OSHA’s Workplace Poster

A popular question we’ve been receiving from our clients recently is asking if they need to replace their current OSHA Job Safety and Health Poster with the new version.

If you currently have the previous versions of the poster, you do not need to replace it. Employers must display the poster in a conspicuous place where workers can see it. However, if you would like a copy of the new poster, please click on the picture on the left for more information.

Why is there a new poster?

The 2015 federal OSHA poster expands the lists of employee rights and employer responsibilities, adding information about training and injury reporting requirements.

• Have the right to receive information and training on job hazards, including all hazardous substances in the workplace.
• Can raise a safety or health concern with their employer or OSHA, or report a work-related injury or illness, without being retaliated against.
• Can speak in private to an OSHA inspector.

It also includes additional responsibilities for employers:

• Employers must report to OSHA all work-related fatalities within 8 hours, and all inpatient hospitalizations, amputations, and losses of an eye within 24 hours.
• Employers must provide required training to all workers in a language and vocabulary they can understand.
• It is illegal to retaliate against employees for using any of their rights under the law.
