News Release
On April 30, 2010, the United States Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) awarded Lancaster Safety Consulting, Inc. the distinguished STAR worksite achievement award for demonstrating exemplary occupational safety and health practices. Lancaster Safety Consulting, Inc. is a private, family-based firm who over the past several years has recorded zero “0” injuries or lost work days due to occupational injury or sickness.
OSHA’s Voluntary Protection Program (VPP) was originally introduced in 1982 for general industry sites who desired to achieve and maintain a high standard of occupational safety and health for its work force. In 2006, OSHA expanded the VPP to include construction companies and companies with “mobile workforces”. Lancaster Safety Consulting, Inc. became the first company in OSHA’s Region III to be awarded STAR Mobile Workforce achievement by OSHA.
Out of the estimated 7 million US businesses, less than 3,000 companies have been awarded STAR worksite recognition by OSHA to date.
